FAQ

 Ask Me:

Why Should We Hire You For Our Wedding?

My goal is to exceed your expectations from day one. I will communicate closely with you, answer your emails, texts, and phone calls in a timely way. I will listen to your photography needs and ask you to show me samples of wedding photos you love so I understand your style. I will help you create the initial wedding day timeline so you can begin to see how the day will unfold. We will “scout” your venue together prior to the wedding to pick our favorite photography locations. I will provide you with a photography schedule that includes your “shot list” of important family photos so we can move through that portion of the day seamlessly. I will be as discreet as possible, staying low-key, while still getting those treasured candid and “must-have” shots. I will provide a fast turnaround of your digital files so you can relive every moment and share them with others. I will work closely with you to design your album or place print orders as needed. And hopefully, I will see you again over the years as your family grows and your photography needs change. I want to be considered your family photographer and will give you the same treatment as I would for my own family.

How Would You Describe Your Photography Style?

Over the span of my photography career, I have experienced the many trending words used to describe a photography style. These include candid, lifestyle, artistic, dramatic, documentary, photojournalistic, modern, vintage, classic, traditional, and more. I can honestly say that ALL of these adjectives can come into play in one way or another throughout my photography style. I am adaptable to challenging situations such as ever-changing light, weather patterns, day-of scheduling adjustments, and more. Ultimately, I tell your love story as it unfolds, with very little direction, so it flows organically. I orchestrate photos appropriately during times like the First Look, group photo sets, and time with the couple, etc but otherwise, I stay out of the way and discreet. I always say “the best compliment you can give me is that you didn’t notice me most of the day!” I communicate closely with your vendors such as the wedding planner, event coordinator, officiant, DJ or bandleader to stay prepared and ready for what will happen next. Additionally, I have spent a fair amount of time as a studio product photographer which taught me how to capture the carefully thought-out details featured at your wedding.

What is Your Pricing?

I completely understand and respect your need for transparent, affordable pricing. I don’t post my prices online because there are many variables such as venue locations, the number of guests, hours of coverage needed, and which services are the best fit for you. I encourage you to send me an email so I can learn more about your event and provide you with the right quote. Every wedding is different and I strive to customize each day to fit your needs. Occasionally I will charge travel or overnight accommodation fee if the event is beyond a certain mile radius. I have packages that range from $3,000-$5,500 or we can design your coverage with ala carte options. Intimate gatherings with a two-hour minimum can be priced by the hour and start at $750. Engagements and Boudoir sessions are generally between $400-$750.

Do You Work With A Second Photographer?

Sometimes! Let me explain….Most of the time I work alone. I have been a photographer for over 20 years and I have the confidence to cover your entire day by myself. However, there are times when another vantage point is necessary or if I can’t be in two places at one time. Here are a few scenarios where having a second photographer would be a good idea;

*You need full coverage for a wedding of 200 guests or more (maximum coverage of guests and activities of those in attendance).

*You would like getting ready photos of both of you but will be staying in different hotels or locations (this allows for a photographer in each location).

*You aren’t doing a First Look so all of the photos together after the ceremony will be completed during the cocktail hour. You want candids of your guests during that time as well (one photographer will do formal photos while the other gets candids at the cocktail hour).

I often suggest having a second photographer for just a portion of the day. Instead of 8 hours with two photographers, it’s sometimes appropriate to have one for 8 hours and one for 4 hours. Once I determine the timeline for your day, I can recommend the best options.

Where Is Your Studio Located and How Far Will You Travel?

I am located in Southern NH at 33 Howard St, Wilton #25 on the third floor in a beautiful old mill building with amazing natural light. I am there during the week most days but recommend that you make an appointment in case I’m shooting. I LOVE to travel and there are no limits to how far I will go. I have been on assignment to Fiji, American Samoa, Hawaii, Punta Cana, Mexico, and all over the United States. Most of my weddings are in the New England area, particularly New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine. I enjoy the challenge of going somewhere I have never been before and I spend the time to learn everything I can about your location for the best photos.

Can We Meet First To Make Sure This Is The Right Fit For Us?

Yes! I highly encourage it. I understand there are times when hiring me sight unseen is necessary and we can communicate over the phone or email. No problem! As much as possible though, I recommend inviting you to the studio for a visit. I enjoy the personal connection and face-to-face meeting so I can learn more about you. I want to hear about how you met and what led up to this wonderful reason for our paths to cross. I also want to tell you about me and what it means to be your photographer. I can show you my photography style with images and galleries online but I want to share my vision with you about YOUR day and how we can collaborate! I would like to have the opportunity to set myself apart from the many other photographers you could choose from and I think an in-person meeting allows for this. You will likely spend your entire wedding day with the photographer you choose so it’s vital to have a feeling of mutual trust and partnership.

Do You Provide Video?

I don’t personally provide video because I am a still photographer. However, I have carefully selected a group of highly recommended videographers that I have worked with over the years. Please ask and I will share them with you.

Do You Edit Your Own Photos?

Yes! I personally cull, color correct, and crop your photos one at a time for the best results. With every image I carefully edit, I have the thought in the back of mind “what if THIS shot was their favorite of all time?” I will provide you with quality photos that tell a complete story. I don’t limit or keep track of how many images I provide but rather focus on giving you the BEST ones.

Who Owns the Copyright to the Photos?

My photography service includes a copyright release that allows you to download, print, and share your digital files and photos. The Copyright belongs to the photographer who creates the images so it is not possible for anyone else to sell or obtain copyright of the images.

How Do I Order Professional Quality Albums and Enlargements?

Your password-protected digital files are delivered via direct download to an online gallery within 5-7 days of your wedding date. From this gallery, you can organize, share, and upload digital files. You can also order prints, canvas prints, cards, enlargements, albums, and more online. I highly encourage clients to order products from a professional lab. Why invest in professional photography and then order from a non-professional lab that will produce substandard quality? If you do decide to print them yourself, I can lead you to a few labs I trust.

What Are Some Other Photography Services You Provide?

I do a wide range of fun and creative sessions - either in my studio or on location. Engagements, Proposals, Elopements, Boudoir, Bridal, Model Portfolios, and Family Photography are just a few examples of what I do. Depending on the time of year, I will give you my recommendations for the best time of day for our session. For example, there is something so dramatic and wonderful about the early evening and “golden hour” photos….. So beautiful! But I will work with your schedule and provide several options for an appointment.

Are You Insured?

A definite YES! I can provide my certificate of insurance at any time for anyone that needs it.

What Kind of Equipment Do You Have?

I’m a Canon girl! I have enjoyed the process of learning and growing through 20 years of equipment formats. I started this profession with Nikon film cameras then on to Mamiya film/digital backs, to my current Canon digital cameras. I have 2 Canon Mark III and a Canon Mark IV. My lenses are 24-70’s and 70-200mm. I use the Speedlite on-camera flash systems when natural light is not available or need to “fill in”. I have a large selection of Paul C Buff studio products which include lights on stands, softboxes, and backdrops for use as needed.

I’m Ready To Book With You - What Are The Next Steps?

I will provide you with a contract for review to sign, date, and send in with your non-refundable $1,000 deposit to hold the date. I require the remainder of the balance one month prior to the wedding date.

Can You Share Any Last Thoughts or Advice

“Do your best to plan for everything and then expect the unexpected” or “don’t forget to enjoy your day because it’s over so quickly”. These are very true statements! But let me be more personal and tell you this; focus on each other. There is nothing more important than this. It is not a natural feeling to have so many people watching your every move during the day - I understand how it could be stressful. But staying connected is SO important. Not only does your energy carry the day but it IS about the two of you after all. It is the ultimate celebration of your love and commitment to each other and everyone wants to feel it too. Let this day take you on an amazing journey filled with the love of family and friends. I hope I can be the photographer you choose to capture these incredible moments.

Thank you for allowing me to share these thoughts with you,

Liesl Clark
